A Message To New Students From Grandmaster Kidong Lee

To those of you just beginning Tae Kwon Do and/or Hap Ki Do, neither fear nor expect too much of your new found practice. The majority of beginners experience a feeling of inadequacy with regard to performing to movements involved. Not to worry if you feel this way, it is common and short-lived. You are not an expert yet and no one expects you to do more than your best. If you expect too much in the beginning, you will become disappointed. Example: if you try to eat more than your stomach will hold, you are going to get sick. Just like eating you can digest only a certain amount during each session.

Every beginner must remember…there is either no easy come, easy go…or no pain … the true winner is the one who never gives up! It is not a matter of who has the best technique it is who has a burning desire and does his or her best.  There is no such thing as who is the best student, it is one who never gives up and a positive mental attitude and tries to do their best and improve continuously. I strongly believe you can and will be the best student in Lee’s Korean Martial Arts School with the right attitude and perseverance.  Martial Arts training has the potential to make you healthier and maybe even happier than you have ever been.

Sincerely,

Grandmaster Lee
